1. Class Pulse
Class Pulse allows teachers to check in on their students remotely. This feature not only lets teachers see how students are progressing in their learning but also lets them check in emotionally. Teachers can use Class Pulses to ask students how they’re doing with the lessons, whether they understand the material, and whether they’re generally doing OK.
Scheduling a Class Pulse is a very fast, easy process. The teacher can customize a question to ask and a time for the Pulse to show up, and then the Pulse is served up on the student side of the platform. Students can assign a star rating for how things are going or put in a full response.
Class Pulses can be scheduled for a certain day or week, or they can be done on the fly. This feature is incredibly versatile!
2. Kudos
Kudos is a tool that allows students to encourage each other. It lets students choose from a number of pre-programmed encouraging comments. Whether your students are in a classroom together or working separately from their homes, they can send nice comments to each other and build friendships and teamwork within the program.
It’s up to the teacher to decide whether to let students use the Kudos feature or not, but many teachers appreciate how it helps their students support each other. If the teacher chooses to make this feature available in their class, students can send kind comments and encouraging words to any of their classmates.
3. Teams
The Teams feature makes it easy for students to work in virtual teams. Teachers can create teams for the class, decide which students end up in which teams, and assign team roles.
Whether your class is together in person or not, everyone can still be on a team and feel like they are part of something bigger. This feature can make a big difference in how you teach your class and in students’ sense of belonging.
