NGSS Teacher Training
As science teachers, we recognize that you have unique challenges within your classroom. Not only do you have to maintain rigorous academic practices, you also have to implement relevant hands-on learning opportunities for students. The Next Generation Science Standards are in place to help ensure that science education is logical, consistent from one school and district to the next, and encourages a deep growth and understanding in students.
This NGSS Teacher Training course is intended to break down the complexity of the standards with plain talk. The following four questions will be addressed through the training:
- What is NGSS?
- What will the standards look like in practice?
- How do I read the standards?
- How can I bring the NGSS into my classroom?
ISTE Teacher Training
This ISTE Teacher Training course explores the International Society for Technology Education (ISTE) standards for educators. Learner, Leader, Citizen, Collaborator, Designer, Facilitator, and Analyst standards are explained and pedagogy surrounding them is discussed. We use relatable language and examples to break down the seven ISTE Standards for Educators. Lessons offer guidance into the intricacies of the standards and encourage teachers to reflect on their practices. The course will encourage you to brainstorm strategies that will be effective in your classroom that you can use and implement immediately.
