4 Great Online STEM Activities for Elementary School

It’s often hard to find ready-made activities for teaching elementary school STEM, especially if you want to make your lessons remote-friendly. At Yeti Academy, we have a solution: an easy-to-use, resource-rich STEM learning platform that gives students an exciting and relevant educational experience. Each module comes with lesson plans, activities, slide shows, tests, and more.

We offer a wide variety of modules covering science, technology, engineering, and math. These are a few of our favorite options for elementary school.

Yeti Code

Yeti Code teaches elementary students coding skills in a fun, interactive snow mountain environment. Students initially use a code palette to choose commands, and as they learn the coding language, they can hide the code palette. We provide plenty of built-in levels, but teachers can also challenge students to new heights with our easy-to-use level builder.

One of the best parts of Yeti Code is that there are both games for single students and multiplayer coding game options. As they advance, students can play against each other and motivate each other to build their coding skills. The most accurate and efficient coder wins!

We offer two distinct coding curriculums for beginning (grades 2-4) and advanced (grades 4-8) coders. Yeti Code Level 1 is ideal for first-time coders, while Level 2 is designed for students who have already been exposed to coding.

Super Citizenship

Super Citizenship is a digital citizenship module that uses fun superhero videos to teach concepts. The modules are designed to give students in grades 3-5 the skills for success and safety in our current digital era.

Our curriculum includes a series of videos, lessons to reinforce learning, and an illustrated scenario-based quiz packaged into a curriculum aligned with ISTE standards. Teachers will find it easy to teach this course!

Snowboard Shop

Snowboard Shop is a Google Workspace Training module designed for grades 3-5. We include in-app video guidance and plenty of teacher resources to make the learning process as straightforward as possible.

In Snowboard Shop, students help a character named Sadie Shred open a snowboard shop at the Black Diamond Peak ski resort. In the process of helping Sadie launch a successful business, students learn to use Google Workspace and put their skills to work to help Sadie accomplish her goals.

Space Code Jr.

Space Code Jr. is our coding module for the youngest elementary students. With this block-based coding game, you can teach your K-2 students the basics of sequencing, loops, and logic in a fun space environment.

Like all Yeti modules, Space Code Jr. includes plenty of teacher resources to make teaching as easy as possible from either a classroom or remote environment. If you are looking to get young students excited about coding, you will love this module!
